About Aster Family Support

Aster Family Support is a strengths-based community organisation, and we focus on building supportive relationships, facilitating growth and respecting diversity. Annually we work with over 150 families through our Family Support, Meitheal, Household Assistance, and Triple P services.

Situated at 122 Greencastle Road, Coolock, D17 EA31, with our Family Resource Centre in Balbriggan , our service provision team includes Family Support & Community Development workers who can support families to achieve their goals.

Aster Family Support also actively identifies families for whom Meitheal may be helpful and acts as Lead Practitioner in these cases.

Our name “ASTER” comes from what’s at the heart of our organisation and how we work with families:

Assist, Support, Teach, Empower, Resource

Our office hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday and service hours are between 8am – 10pm Monday to Saturday depending on the needs of the families we support.

Governance

In January 2021 the Board of management of AFS approved a merger with Northside Homecare Sercive CLG. The merger process is now fully complete and AFS is fully merged with and part of the shared services of NHCS CHY17158.
